Diamond Campground & RV Park – Woodland Park, CO

3LTE, $22(PA)/night, 50FHU

Very tight and crowded. Clean, friendly staff, and close to town. Passport America in the off season.

This park was a last resort for us. We like to find free sites in beautiful places but ran out of luck and wound up getting the last RV site in the campground just days before they stopped accepting Passport America. We got lucky…sort of.

The campground is nice and clean, and the staff is friendly, but the sites are extremely close together and most are back-in’s with trees on either side. There were lots of other ‘helpers’ around when I was trying to back in. I got in no problem but getting out was difficult. The neighbors across the way don’t have much room for their vehicles, which get in the way of anyone trying to get in or out.

Seems like most people live here seasonally, which is fine, but not much room for the transients, and I feel like they aim to keep it that way.

We had 3 bars Verizon LTE, 50 amp FHUs, and groceries/laundry are 1 mile away. It was helpful in a pinch, but we usually try to avoid places like this and won’t be back unless we’re out of options.
