We got turned away for not having proper paperwork. TEXANS, pay attention.
We made a reservation a month in advance. When we showed up they asked for license, proof of insurance, truck registration, and trailer registration. This is a County ordinance.
If you’re from Texas, your sticker DOES NOT count as proof of registration. You must have the receipt from when you purchased or renewed your registration, for your tow vehicle AND your trailer, AND/OR your towed (depending on your setup). If you don’t have any one piece, you will be turned away.
We called our Texas tax assessor office, the Jefferson County office and pleaded with the folks at the check in office, but we were turned away for not having our receipt for the truck. We did receive a full refund several days later.
With all other parks full in or near the city, we had to go to Boulder County Fairgrounds about an hour north. See our review of Boulder Co FG to read about that bad experience as well.
We were turned away from Jeffco in June 2018 and the site was supposed to be water/electric, no sewer available.
