Cherry Creek Rd, Camp Verde, AZ

National Forest, 3LTE, clean, good view

Good free National Forest dry camping. Close to services. Open for solar.

This was our first extended dry camping (boondocking) experience and it was excellent. There is a gas station at the intersection to Cherry Creek, which is great for supplies, restroom, and small trash disposal. They even have a growler fill station! We had 3 bars Verizon LTE and a great view. The area was clean.

The road in is paved almost all the way and it’s not far from 260. Good for any size rig, lots of spaces. There were only a handful of other occupants and we were all pretty spaced apart.

Mega construction going on (April 2018) during our stay for new roundabouts, but it is manageable, just slows down any trips to anywhere and back.

We dumped ($10) and filled ($3) at Trails End RV Park just south of I-17.
